ROMANTICISM
Romanticism was a literary movement that emerged in the 19th century as a reaction against rationalism. This movement emphasized the importance of individuality, spirituality, nature, and emotions over logic, making Romanticism one of the most significant literary movements in the United States. The most significant works were; 'Self-Reliance' by Ralph Waldo Emerson, 'Young Goodman Brown' by Nathaniel Hawthorne, 'The Raven' by Edgar Allan Poe, ' Walden' by Henry David Thoreau, ' Leaves of Grass' by Walt Whitman, and 'The Hope is that thing with feathers' by Emily Dickinson.
